My Labor is stuck in Atlanta processing center.... It is frustrating to see people getting approvals in 2 days from Chicago center.
While people who apply to Chicago today, can file 485 by July, I'm gonna miss the boat :eek:

My attorney sent me a questinaire and the following is a part of the questionaire.
I don't have any of the below mentioned but a checking account. Do I need to have any of the following so that I can get approval for my I485?

my manager decided that he is going to RIF me in October. I just filed for my AOS and EAD last week. So i would assume my receipt date would be some time in July.
I already have my I-140 approved with PD of Mar 2004
Please suggest what do I need to do ?. Since July to October is like 3 -months, I can get an EAD ( atleast Interim ).
So can I work on this EAD ?. What are the consequences ?. Should I re-start the whole process of Labor / I-140 / I-485 ? with the priority date of the I - 485 ?.
I am sooo fed up with this whole process already. But I don't want to leave this now. I will get the Green Card, and then take citizenship before I leave this country

You should be ok if ur employer doesn't revoke ur 140 before 180 days. After that you r fine and can work with any employer of ur choice in the same field.

1. . US point of contact information ? can i give contact of my friend or it has to be someone in my company ?
2. Monhtly salary in Local currency ? do i have to convert my current US monthly salary to Rupees ?

Also carry your educational docuements. They asked me last time when I went to stamping for my H1B Extension, in Feb 09. People over their in the Embassies looking in all means to stop giving the VISAs. So be prepared with all the documents.

I dont know your exact visa background, but why do you want to use EAD, it is always better to stay on h1, if you are planning to shift employer then do h1 transfer. There are lots of threads explaining the pros and cons of using AC21 and switchin to EAD etc... but the safest way is to stay on h1.
If you can then i would suggest staying on h1, if you are shiftin employer talk to new one to ask for h1 transfer...

Can I leave US before my AP gets approved, hoping that it will be approved in the next 2 months time and my attorney will send the AP papers to my India address?
Is it possible, please advice.

I am trying to find health insurance for my spouse who is in H4 visa.
Could you please let me know if I can buy the health insurance only for her? Is there some law which states H1B visa holder also needs to buy the health insurance along with the spouse?
BTW, I am living in NJ.

I have my I-140 approved from Company A(Future Emp) PD 2002 and 485 PENDING . Since Visa category is current.
My current company B is asking me to apply for I-485 PD 2005 and withdraw 485 from Company A. Since PD of
Company A is 2002. I dont want to loose the opportunity. Should I join Company A/ Stick with Compamy B.
